Spring is upon us here in deep south. Birds are singing and I saw buds on an ornamental shrub in a parking lot.
Hope everyone makes it through the miserable weather of this winter.

Weatherguesser said 1-4" yesterday. Got almost 10" where didn't drift and 2' or so where did.
And wouldn't you know it, the ole' girl acting up and don't wanna restart so only got ends of drives done.

8 weeks till early planting season here, 1-2" of snow on the ground and 5' of frost.

Spring is not here yet.

nw alabama getting close. planting lettuce and cabbage next week when projected temps at 70. tomato seeds delivered last week. next big indication; spring peepers.

Humph! 20 degrees and 8 inches of snow this morning. (smile) I am getting pretty handy driving a 4700 Loadstar on slick roads in poor visability though. 15 mile round trip every morning to pick up TMR for my sons cows. Cows gotta be fed no matter what the weather. Only missed three days so far. Borrowed the neighbors truck while ours was down for repairs. Neighbor borrowed ours a couple of days while his was down, too. Worked out pretty well for both of us. This winter IS starting to wear a bit thin, though. Won't be long and it will be time to start tapping trees.

88 yesterday, 35 this morning on the Grassy Knoll. It must be spring in south Central Texas. I noticed the terminal buds on the fig bush are turning green and the bluebonnet seedlings are starting to grow. Just need rain. We've had less than 2 inches since the Halloween flood.
