What's the best way to restore cast stove its a coal stove with
6 burners on top with an oven. Paint or polish not sure what
to use??

I believe they made something called "Stove Black". I don't know what it was made of,but I found a couple of cans of it when I was cleaning up one time.

I used a high temp flat black from rust-oleum on my stove that sets in the fireplace. Looks good and has held up for 3 years now.

I used stove polish on mine. Came out real nice.

S Jim said, Rustoleum works well and last. A clean rust free surface before you paint is the trick. The first fire you put in it after painting will smell a bit, that's why mine needs it now. I'll wait until warm weather with the windows open.

My stove is an old Victorian range. It sat for years neglected. I blasted it and painted it with motor bike pot black paint....used for the manifolds of bike engines, That was over 20 years ago and it is still good..............Sam
