Had to Rescue Mom

Mom moved home Monday after living with us for 8 months taking care of Dad until he died. She called this morning says power is out and car is frozen over and limbs and trees are down and can't get out. My Brother and I got chainsaws and drove the 55 miles to her house thawed out her car loaded her up and brought her home. Lots of trees and limbs and power lines down. No idea when power back that far out in the country. Mom's is just glad to be warm.

News was just talking about the weather down your way, and how bad it was. Hope things get better fast down there. We thawed a good bit up here, but not enough for me!

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do, and kudos to you and your brother for doing that. If family needs help, you just drop what you're doing and go to their aid. That's what life is all about.

Gotta agree. Far too many families don't help each other out today.

Saw a big caravan of utility trucks going down I-26 this afternoon, Hopefully help is on the way, to get the power back on. Trucks were from Indiana...

RBinSC- Did you shut off the water line coming into her house?

I had one freeze and burst the other day because of "no power". That is a mess to clean up.
