I love the barn! Who paid for that?
Now they just need to do what was done here- go through and cut out all the connecting beams, and run a track along the peak. And watch the barn spread.

Here's more information AND it's in Nebraska not Iowa:

Many hay carriers boasted intricate detail, like this Illinois-made piece displayed at Doug de Shazer’s Lewis & Clark Pulley Museum in Crofton, Neb.

Google is your friend.

Naw,
It was snowing pretty good BUT I'm pretty sure we were still in Iowa!
See oleblu's post above.

I always sorta liked loading hay with those tongs. Fun. We used to occasionally hook the tongs into the bottom of the wagon, and haul the wagon up til somebody yelled.
Never forget the time Pop had the hay baled, and loaded with a elevator. WOW, what a labor saver!!

Thanks for posting the link!

Steve is a very nice guy and his collection and knowledge was amazing.

Dad once told me about using one of these type forks.

the wagon did not have a solid floor, just boards spread out with gaps in between. They were getting close to the bottom of the load when the fork went between the boards and grabbed the coupling pole. They were using an old Fordson to pull the hay up and he had the rear of the wagon a couple feet in the air before they got the driver to stop.
