Here's what happens

Here's where your money goes when you send your $19 a month to help the little sore eyed kitties.
The wack jobs have the Mayor of New York wanting to ban horse drawn carriages in the city. But they have a home for them don't'cha know. As long as the owners are willing to give them away.
Ban horse carraiges in NYC

Breathing exhaust, dodging dangerous traffic, confined to the shafts of the carriage and tiny stable stalls and no access to greener pastures.....OH WAIT.....they are talking about the horses not the people....lol. You know with all the problems in the world...and Im sure hunger and homelessness in NYC, I can see why the horse and carriage problem should be addressed above everything else. This country wouldnt have been built if it wasnt for good old horsepower.

Let me get this straight, we need to get rid of the gasoline automobile and use "green" energy. However when we have something that uses no fossil fuels we need to get rid of that also? Some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope!

I've always wondered about animal "rights" activists. Did a part of their brain die or were they just born without the ability to use logic? They usually seem normal otherwise. The other problem with these flakes is they always band together with other single issue wackos like the global warming extremists, gun haters,(AKA friends of the predators), environmental screwballs and other fruits flakes and nuts.

I live 80 miles from Chicago it is very rural here. The Chicago carriage horse vacation a few miles from me in big pastures look like they have it made.

Yup. I read that story.

I wish they kept stats on the number of horses that have been killed by the "kindness" of people who know nothing about horses.

They are all for things like this as long as it doesn't cost them anything.

What about Police horses? Are they going to ban them, too?

I've heard fellow horse owners talk about PITA wanting to make it illegal to do anything with a horse except keep it like a pet in the yard.

Just keeping it as a pet and nothing else would be step one. Their ultimate goal is to ban ownership altogether.

Y'all better get ready for a bunch of refugees. The Gov. has proclaimed that NY has no room for people like me.
When pushed out, I'll be headed south. I'll guess there's a lot more of us than there are horses in NYC too!

Did you like that? what he said? This fool does not represent hundreds of thousands of people at all, and for that he needs to be systematically voted out of office this coming fall, its that simple, he must be voted out, we need to find a way to get that done. I've never really been interested in or made an issue about politicians, they all turn sour after so long in office, they either go stale or become offensively rotten, in this case, its the latter, so its time to rotate the stock again, take out the trash.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but the people that are pushing DeBalsio to outlaw the carriage horses also happen to be the people who want the property the stables for the horses sit on for a high building project.

Coincidence, I'm sure....

As with any charity at least 50% of the $$ go to running the charity. Take this example. United way years ago built a multi million dollar building in NY city for that they used as there head quarters. Same building could have been built in a smaller city for half that but nope they had to be where they could be seen by all

Yes many are by far worse and the food stamps program is one of the worst. Takes something like 2 dollars for every 25 cents given out in food stamps due to the red tape.

A man bid $25.oo on Ebay for ONE metal desk...

He WON the auction and promptly received a phone call, informing him he had 2 WEEKS to remove EVERYTHING in the old Chalmers P. Wyle Veteran's Clinic (Columbus, Ohio)..
Come to find out that the "Bid" was for the ENTIRE Contents..!!!
Definitely OUR money Miss-Used and Wasted..

Ron.

There is no doubt, developer I used to work for, paid 16 million, just for the lot, that would eventually be a massive 41 story building between 8th and 41st, and or 42nd, 315 units, also a 17 story with that one. There was a lot more to it than just having the money and being able to secure the deal. Smaller building which I did for them, they took over a corner lot that was a garden center, it got approved, but you want to talk about some uppity neighbors, makes the work I did miserable. They all have an agenda, pro or con, that is for sure.

I know there was a stable on the west side of Manhattan, not too far from where the west side highway elevates, 54th or so, probably some developer behind that, as its not far from a bunch of buildings nnalert put up over many years.

So carriages are out, but its ok for equestrian training or similar, 30 blocks south, in the Chelsea Pier complex... surprised no one brought that up.

All the carriage horses I ever saw in my 15 years there looked very well taken care of, no dodging of traffic or what have you. None of it means a darned thing to me anyway, just something to talk about LOL !

We have some "do gooders" in Trenton, Missouri. The Mayor (total moron) wants to fine the Amish everytime they leave "horse droppings" on the streets. They want to force them to use the "diaper bags". Local Amish say that they will boycott Trenton if this happens. Most people do not realize how much money they spend in town...

Most people don't realize how much money they spend in town....
You got that right in more ways than one. Horse manure is a valuable commodity as fertilizer for the fields. Maybe the Amish should charge the town for leaving those horse droppings available to the townsfolk for their yards and gardens. I'm sure some slimy low-life smart-azz lawyer could come up with a dollar value/dropping and sue the city for reimbursement....for a percentage of the proceeds of course.

I don't know what the current rules are here for posting links or news stories.

Do a search on "Reason the New NYC Mayor Vowed to Ban Horse Carriages in NYC".

I did. Which link do you want me to go to?

The one with this line "They're not humane, they're not appropriate to the year 2014" ?

Or the one from someplace called The Blaze with some conspiracy theory stuff? I don't know what The Blaze is,but if the likes of Limbaugh are behind it,let me remind you that Limbaugh is an official fund raising spokesman for HSUS,the radical left wing animal rights group that's behind things like this and I'd sooner think the conspiracy theory "real estate" thing is to take the heat off his animal rights buddys.

The Blaze is Glen Beck's network. It amazes me that you still hang your hat on people like Rush and Paul Harvey at one time being sponsored by HSUS but you had no problem several years back supporting Granholm with the nonsense she vocally stood up for. It was obvious back when you said you voted for her that you had spent to much time breathing silo gas. Just like Rush and Paul Harvey did, you made a illogical decision insupporting her, but we don't ignore you or speak bad about you because you made that decision.

Enjoyed your misspelling of PETA! Methinks, twarn"t a mistake....just correctively descriptive! (ain"t our lenkwedge phun?)

If you are serious Billy, you can use your computer, to start a groundswell. I don't understand, all I hear about facebook, twitter, and blogs but the politicians take them seriously, so they must be dangerous to politicos.

It's no conspiracy. Check it out for yourself. Follow the information and you'll see it's fact.

FYI, Rush hasn't supported HSUS since 2009. He did one ad for them, thats it. Hasn't been associated with them since.

Just so all local charities don't get painted with the "old" brush of ignorance... Our local UW only uses 10% for administration. I worked there on loan from my company several years ago and there is nothing extravagant or wasteful in their operation, in fact they have high turnover among the actual employees because of the low wages. They are using desks and chairs that my company donated to them in the '50s! It's one thing to rage against charitable operations until you see what they actually do. Most do good work with very little.

Who said I ever "supported" Granholm? That woman was a scourge on this state. I supported DeVos in his campaign up until just before the election, then he made a big mistake and overplayed his hand, making a speech showing us just who he really was and what he would do if he was elected. When I got in the booth, that speech rang in my head and I just couldn't vote for him in good conscience. If I had it to do over,I would have done what I did last time when I couldn't bring myself to vote for Snyder and his little Egor like sidekick and voted Libertarian.
Gonna edit this to ask one thing. If he disavowed his association with HSUS,what was his excuse for ever getting involved with them in the first place? I'd really like to know. That's not something that you just stumble in to by accident. He knew the microphone was on,and it was two commercials not just one.

I only found evidence of one commercial, maybe there were 2. He's a cat lover believe it or not. That's why he was associated in the first place. You know the schpeel, "We save thousands of poor kitties each year. Please help us Mr. Limbaugh, it'll save thousands more!"

I once fell for the schtick from a guy named H. Ross Perot. I learned my lesson, I imagine Rush did too.

After 15 years of listening to him every day and knowing how he changed his tune every time the heat was on or the wind changed directions,I'd be inclined to believe that if he did disavow them,it was only because the heat was on.
You have to believe one of two things. Either he really believes in the organization and its causes,or he doesn't investigate anything before he runs his mouth. Would you lend your name and reputation to an organization without finding out who they were? And if he did lend his name to something like this without looking in to it,what else does he spout off about in three hours a day five days a week without looking in to it?
This wasn't something he said off the cuff on the air. There were scripts, appointments, plans. It's not like HSUS was a stealth organization before he made those commercials.

I'm not a Rushbot pal. I responded because you confused Beck with Limbaugh and then made charges based on info from 2009 that are not currently correct. That's it. Limbaugh IS NOT a spokesman for the HSUS as you stated, that's what I'm correcting.
