this was taken yesterdayin a subdivision which i take care of for extra cash the comon area is exactly 13 acres i know as ive mowed it since 1977 this is right in the middle of town, not on the edge, there are over 80 elk here in all, southern nm has the largest elk herd in the southern unites states the biggest is the yellowstone herd , not everybody gets to go to work and watch this, there is also a large deer heard here , a few bears too the lion was about 2 miles northwest of here from my other post its nice to see, but this is also why the lion was in town

Did the elk eat the shift key too?? I'm sorry to be an old curmudgeon but my tired brain has problems with 113 word sentences.

dont pay attention to proper sentance structure, i dont, and i dont care either, pay attention to the information lol im not a computer person when i was in school they didnt exist and i never had a typing class i just do the best i can

That many could do a lot of harm if they got scared and ran across town! Neat picture, thanks.

Looks like around Ruidoso or further toward Capitan or Tinnie? I'll be driving to Roswell this week to visit family. Sure hope I get a chance to drive up the valley and maybe visit Bonita Lake. Used to trout fish there a lot in the 70's. Never saw elk like that in NM before.

Eric ;please I'm just saying I would like to get the information, but when I have to go back 3 times to decide where the sentence starts and ends it takes too long.Just capitalize when you do a new thought. It makes it so much easier to read.BTW,I'm 72 and when I was in school computers were beads on a string (abacus) and only girls took typing. LOL

Thanks for the great photo. I love watching wildlife and animals in general. There's nothing more entertaining to me than watching a newborn calf struggling to get up after being born and FIND it's 1st meal of colostrum.
PS: I'm 69 and had NO TROUBLE reading and comprehending your text.

this is in ruidoso, if you havent been to bonito in a few years prepare yourself, 2 years ago the little bear fire was very very hard on that area. the lake which is a major source of water for alamogordo is now usless with silt 45 feet deep in it the last i heard, they are working on it, but it will be a long time getting back to the beautiful area it onc was, the lake does have some water in it now, so it looks better but the whole area is hit hard

The elk have really thrived in the area, good grasslands and a huge forest to live in have let them grow into huge heards, the stay in groups like this with the largest one being on the apache reservation, but they can be found all over lincoln county

Stop complaining and enjoy the posts. I am a well educated person and much older than you and I have been able to to interpret the posts from the good people on this site.

Funny thing is I had no problem reading your post at all ! Didn't even think there was a problem until I read all the replies.

I know at home we only have a little tablet thingy to read YT on and to write a reply you tap tap tap with a little plastic thingy half the time it does not go to where you tap !

The rules are the same as they were in grade school using a pencil on a lined piece of paper. To say that you do it wrong because you never studied typing is just being lazy. I never studied typing in school either, I mostly hunt and peck. But I did learn the rules in grade school and I follow them.

ase of the pot calling the kettle black.
I noticed you ain't to proper either when you start the next sentence before tapping your space bar to create a space after the a dot.

Just saying

Reminds me, they "transplanted" some elk in western North Carolina a few years ago, and they have been reproducing well. However the inevitable happened a few months ago. IIRC it was on the Blue Ridge Parkway, My son told me that someone hit one with a
vehicle.
BTW, don't worry too much about proper typing or spelling, I try to punctuate properly and spell properly "lessin I wants ta sound like a good ol' boy frum daown Saowth.
