My son and I built this for his draft horse. He has a business in the Saratoga Ny area, mowing paddocks and tilling gardens and food plots. All the parts were salvaged from scrapyard items.
We had fun.

Pretty good ideas on this machine. I would bet that a lot of horse guys would find a use for it.

Caution!!! Show your son how to lift a sickle bar mower WITHOUT his fingers in/near the sickle. I know it is a wobble box type but they can still let the sickle fall.

Good advice from JD I cringed when I saw his fingers between the knives, I am lucky to still have one finger from a sickle that slid while working on it. My finger wasn"t supposed to be in there but things moved. The Amish are pretty clever with things like this, I"ve seen ground driven mowers with hydraulic lifts, pump run from the wheel.

What brand are the guards? They look like they do not have tops on them like some CASE used on a t10 from years ago.

I saw that too last night, made me cringe... glad someone else was thinking the same thing, love seeing things like this built, just fingers between those knives....... like fingernails across the chalk board !
