I know you guys like photos so I thought I would contribute. Saw this a few mornings back when it was below 0. I thought it was a pretty neat depiction of Sun Dogs...

Awesome...I have seen them 3 times this winter, but NOWHERE CLOSE to the intensity of these...thanks for posting...

Tim ( this am was -8 with a west wind....marked the 33rd day of below zero temps in SW WI this winter.
 
One of the benefits of living in northern states. 'Course when you see that, you know it's darn cold out. Had moon dogs a couple weeks ago. Moonlight reflecting off the snowy field, too. I really regret not finding a camera and capturing it.
 
The sun doesn't shine much on reflective snowy ground in our country.....If it did happen the reflection would have a greenish tint!.....LOL
