Wore em out

You aren't the only one. I broke two yesterday. If I can make it to summer I will repair these. I don't think they make them this good anymore.

(quoted from post at 12:32:30 02/06/14) thats bullcrap

What do you consider BS? The years of usage?

We have a set of chains that my dad bought new for his H Farmall. They bought the H in 1944. I was born in 1954, and from my earliest memories I remember him using those chains.

I am guessing they are at least 55-60 years old. They are still hanging in the machine shed and still usable to this day.

Grandpa had the same tire chains on the 860 Ford every year from 1962-1992. Thirty years of plowing snow, and the last ten was feeding two round bales every day all winter long. They show plenty of wear, but still usable.

This have never came off since 1975. bought the cross links from a over the road shop, and used log chain for the sides. Yes a tractor will slide on ice.

I have a set of chains that were bought new for Dad's new (at the time) VC CASE. The chains are now for my 210b-h CASE. This winter I have not put them on yet, but they are ready to use. The old chains are very hard and will damage a bolt cutter. So I have been told.

don't make them like they used to oh wait that's when they did make them like they used to? must be why they lasted so long i think??? now i just confused myself lol
