The block numbers and frame numbers were originally matched, but the block must have been replaced.

Give her a big drink of Premium fuel, a nice new coat (of paint), take her for a nice moon-light stroll in the South 40 , talk softly to her, and say nice things about her.

Works wonders, LOL!

I got the date out of a IH data book that I have. The casting code letter for 1939 is I. I own farmall M ser# 1094. I looked a long time for a 39, have had it now for 15 yrs.

I found mine by luck gravel traveling and come across it sitting in a guys yard happend to know the guy so got it with bucket and pto mower for 500 bucks but the engine in it is locked up tight so i'm trying to salvage parts and need to find out the year since I'm sticking a chevy 350 in it

I'm trying to date the engine cuz its not factory to my tractor and i want the right year so i can sell the parts

Be careful. Some of these jokesters will give you ideas that will get you into trouble. I asked how to date a tractor once, and some of these same guys gave me ideas, so I followed them and got arrested. And when I called some of them to ask them to come bail me out, none of them answered their phones.

Like someone said the block was cast in may-9-1951. But if it is in a M the block was replaced sometime. 6722DJ would be a original 51 engine casting.

A date at the machine shop would lift her sprit and about 1000 dumped Into her.. The next date she got is with the junk man time for new life for the ole girl with some chevy power
