For many years, I had used Yahoo for my home page. It was convenient, concise, and had just the information that I wanted right at my fingertips. Weather, news headlines, and a report on my meager stock portfolio.
As of January 31, all users were forced to go to the "New" My Yahoo page. It is totally changed, and not for the better!
First, much of the same information is there, BUT it is arranged poorly. Type point sizes are way too big for my screen. News items are "boxed" in space wasting boxes with heavy, useless borders. There is now said to be a continuous news feed in the top center of the page with a revolving advertisement window in a prominent spot at the right top of the page. The weather display seems to have a mind of its own and as often as not is showing me the weather some 3000 miles away.
Overall, it is cumbersome, unattractive, and takes twice as long to load as the "old" Yahoo. Change apparently only for the sake of change.
I went to leave some feedback about my displeasure, and find that several thousand people have been there before me, and the response is overwhelmingly negative. Feedback seems to fall on deaf ears.
Time for a new home page.
