Getting ready to plant

Warmed up to 60 degrees yesterday. Had 12 earlier in the week with a little snow.
Put my modified 2 bottom plow on the 8N and plowed 3 garden spots yesterday and today. This is where I will plant Irish taters in 2 weeks if the weather cooperates. This is Cecil Sandy Loam soil. As good as it gets here near the mountains.

You could get on a bunch of lists showing what you did yesterday and today. Specially with us up here pushing four letter word white stuff to get around. :)^D

Glad you can get out and have fun.

Every year I wait for someone to post about how they are starting planting. Usually it is further south than you. I sit in my office and read it and think about how three months from now I'll be out there too. More snow today. I'll be pushing it by midnight.

I'll be glad when the WIFE can get out there in the garden. She's going more stir crazy in this weather than I am. At least I'm out there several times a day doing chores. She's climbing the walls.

Dixie can't understand why I want to still have animals to feed morning and night at my age in the cold and snow. Those that did not (love) being raised a farm boy will never understand.

I can't imagine the amount of snow yall get. The most I have seen here is 14 inches. 2 to 6 is more the norm for us.
My dad always said that the time to plant taters is mid February and the time to plant corn is mid March. I try to do that if the weather is good.
I try to stay sane in the winter working in my shop and my wife has a sewing and quilting room off the back of my shop. We are usually down there every evening till 7:30 or so.
Hang in there. We will all be complaining about the hot weather soon enough.

Send Kim out to lunch with Joan.
They're two peas in a pod right now since Joan can't get out
much in this weather.
At least they'd be able get out of the house!
Might even put them in a better mood instead of the winter blahs.

They're still commiserating with each other on facebook aren't they? They can set up their own thing. If I suggest it,I'll probably end up having to pay. lol

Yes, I believe they are.
There are some things worth paying for you know.
I'll split it with ya! LOL

Last time she "got out of the house" she came home needing an estimate on her truck from the body shop.

I wish I had that kind of plow on a tractor! This morning the weather man said that Tuesday we will get "such a measurable amount of snow that I don't want to try and predict the amount yet."

Potatoes in the ground? What ground?

You're on your own for the car repair bills.
But if you decide to fix it yourself I'd be glad to lend a hand.
I still do a bit of body work now and then. Previous life thing.
Before I got this nice cushy computer job. LOL
