Does any one oot thar make a pilgrimage to Punxsutawney for the national celebration?

Do yo have all your ground hog day shopping done?

Vhat memory s can you relate to past ground hog days?
 
Shot one of them critters on Ground Hog Day once.He never saw it coming, he was looking for his shadow.
 
Ground hog day memories for Me is the day when I was round 12 or 13 and My Uncle cook one up and we et it.
 
It took me years to figure out the fact that from February 2nd. there is six more weeks of winter, whether the Groundhog sees his shadow or not!
 
Good Afternoon!
Due to the frozen soil and heavy snow accumulations, we won't be celebrating "Groundhog Day" here in Rushford (no NFC North team is in the Superbowl, so I probably won't watch that, either!). What we will be celebrating, however, is The Purification of Mary and the Presentation of Our Lord on Sunday. Sunday is the 40th day after Christmas, and the day Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the Temple to see Simeon and Anna. They offered two turtledoves as their sacrifice (thus the stanza from the song "The Twelve Days of Christmas"). Simeon sings the Nunc Dimittis, and is able to die a happy and fulfilled man.
I hope you are all staying warm, happy and fulfilled during this long winter!

Going to be a celebration here. SWMBO and i celebrate 40 years of wedded bliss. This ground hog thing just makes it easier to remember the occasion.
