Too Much Snow!! Super C Always does it!

This was taken on Jan 19th after our one or two inches turned into about 6". Now, after a few more inches of white stuff on the ground, this snow pile is another foot higher.
This 1951 Super "C" has been used premarialy for pushing snow here in central MN for over the past 30 years. Has a 7ft push blade mounted to rear axles.
I've owned it since 1980 and it has treated me well! Wish spring was here, getting too cold for these old bones.

Nice tractor.
Someone ought to start a thread 'show your snow mover'.
Get everyone to post some photos.
A lot of creative ideas have gone into making or adapting various blades, plows, loaders and blowers for moving the white stuff.
Be fun to see some of them.

That would be an interesting post. I'd like to see what others have built to push snow.

My dozer balde was originally made from a curved water tank, cut to length with a piece of channel iron across the bottom. As that became worn or damaged, I changed it to a plow blade from a truck bought for $30. Someone had already modified the plow blade to build a 3pt backblade with a swivel. I cut that off and mounted the blade on the dozer beams.
This dozer setup was built by someone else, I bought it with the tractor in 1980, gave $45 for the dozer setup and $825 for the tractor, also $15 for the cultivator with fertilizer canisters.
Only replaced the muffler and after 20yrs use replaced the tires about 10 yrs ago.

A pic taken during WARMER weather but add chains and 30 gallons drum concrete to 3 pt and dont forget the white stuff. I backblade mostly to save what gravel is in driveway then bucket it up to snowpile in yard.

Loren in MN,

That"s an easy fix!! Add a set of duals on that Super C and keep on pushing snow!!! With a 7 ft blade the duals should still be inside the blade clearing path. Plus that would one heck of a sight coming down the road!!!! Love watching those old tractors still being used!!!

To keep those old bones warm, you should look at one of those motorcycle coveralls, they plug into the 12Volt battery supply and have warmers in them!!! I have heard they are pretty warm.

Love to see some more photo"s or a video of the Super C in action, pushing snow!!

Good Luck & have fun!!

I usually try to wait to push snow until temps are above zero, but it's hard to do this year.
I can't remember such a long cold winter. Years ago I do remember more snow but not more than a week at a time of real cold only a couple times each winter.
Maybe I should put on one of my heat hausers that I have setting here, but it's usually too cold by the time I think of it. Wish I had a heated shop. Then again, most years I've only needed to push snow 3-4 times. Last year was 7-8 times in the cold. I've already been moving snow 4 times this season. I do enjoy using the tractor -any of them!

Allis D-17 for haying
Super C for snow removal
Cub 154 for mowing
Farmall 756 for fun
Moline RTI for shows
Case VAC-14 still a project

Ya, you're right there! Easy steering too!

Brother in-law has a Farmall 460 and a 560. I've found that after about 1/2 hour of raking hay is all I want on either of them. Even my Allis D-17 is a nicer ride than those tractors. (must say- he doesn't do a great job smoothing out his newly seeded fields -increases the rough ride!)

Other than riding on steel wheels, the worse tractor to ride for long periods I've found is a Allis WD with the offset seat.
