nw alabama; man is it cold, 9 degrees last night and 19 tonight then a little warmer. next week, 10, 5, 4 and 13 degrees nights. i know, nothing compared to further north but plenty cold for us southern boys. heat pumps working overtime and barely keeping up. ole well, keep warm, pay the piper. also all other the news, propane shortage, rationing and higher prices here also. locally, tva had mothballed a coal fired steam plant with plans to close it: today they had refired the boilers due to high electricity demand.
 
I am in Pa. & over time ya kinda get use to it.
But when it goes from one extream to the other
it doesn't put a shock into your system. When
ya hardly ever get these kinds of Temps it puts
that shock into over drive!!!

hang in there warmer days are coming!!!!
 
Heard somewhere today that Alabama was going to change it's name to Florida hoping it would be warmer in sunny Florida- until they found out the name was already taken......
 
EPA rules shut down the industrial plants all up and down the east coast and sent it all to China. Now they have the heat and pushed all the cold from Siberia over to our side of the globe.
 
wonder where all the global warming gloom and doom fanatics are, haven't heard a single mention of their global warming agenda

Chilly all over!

Got up two mornings ago and it was -27f with the sun all the way up here in Northern New York.

We burn shelled corn for heat and had the stove ginnin' almost full bore!

The last I heard, they were stuck in the ice somewhere near Antarctica. Then the people that came to rescue them got stuck in the ice as well. Serves them right for being idiots.
 

21 this morning in W SC, computer weather says 28 in Iowa City, 36 in St Louis. Looks like that cold bubble of Arctic air has got to all of us in the east. Possibly 4 inches of snow along the SC coast, but we'll see.

Send it on down. We already have the blades on the tractors. Don't have any chains though.
