Wild critters getting hungry

Got a row of old walnut trees along the west of my yard with usually 2 to 6 squirrels. Three hawks have been hanging around the trees for a couple weeks, seen one of them with a squirrel last week.
Seen a coyote at day light this morning snooping around those trees about 150 ft from house, never seen that before.

been a cold winter here in nw alabama, 5 degrees this morning but the critters appear to be doing good. many deer come to the yard at night checking on left over acorns then eat the bird seed that the birds scattered. deer are heavily furred, look fat and healthy. birds and squirrels aplenty at feeders and edge of woods.

Couple of times there has been a flock of about 500 male robins covering the lawn and adjacent alfalfa fields.

Whitetail deer are feeding heavily all morning and into the afternoon here, all around the house, branches, those cherry size crab apples, branches etc, 3"-4" snow cover, tough time of year, at least the snow is not too deep, any direction I look I see them.

Be careful of coons crawling down your chimney if the top is not covered. I fixed this last fall. Family members are having problems with coons getting into cat food. One got a good fill of lead.
