best way to find dads tractor?

looking for a 520 deere. Serial number unknown. Bought at Klaes implement guttenburg iowa. Sold to Hubs repair in New Vienna Iowa in the early 80s. Any tips to find this tractor? Both the original implement and where it was sold are long closed. I have original bill of sale with no serial #. Is there a registry somewhere that tells what tractors were sold each year by a certain implement, or a searchable database somewhere? Im out of ideas at the moment.

I do not know of any database. I have a good friend in New Vienna that does a lot of tractor work, he may know.

Call Pat's repair in New Vienna and ask him.

I don't know about the 520 from 1956-58, but when I bought some parts for a 1980 John Deere, the parts man told me where it was sold and who the original owner was. That was maybe two years ago. But I had the serial number. Maybe with the original bill of sale, a parts man could reference the serial number.

Grew up across the street from Hubs in the Great e"NV"y in the 80's. My parents still live there. Don't recall any JD's but a lot of massy snowmobiles and garden tractors.

Haha..I may know you..I grew up in Holy Cross, went to beckman one year..graduated in 90. Hub had a place for it when dad traded it. It never set on the lot. Story has it that it went north for a restoration.
