That seamed to work

I had some wood I didn't know if it was completely dry yet. I put a piece in a plastic bag, and put it out in the hot California sun for a a few hours, and it condensed water inside the plastic bag. So I guess it isn't dry. Now I need to restack my pile to get to the dry wood behind it. Stan

That's a neat test, but I think you would have to kiln dry it to get it dry enough to not do that. I have a HF moisture tester and its interesting to test different pieces of wood. Because it tests resistance it is not real accurate on all species.

I don't know if that is a good test or not. I had some old kid's toy blocks that were about 60 year's old that had been in an open box in the house for a long time. I had them out in the sun in a plastic bag and the bag was completely soaked inside after a couple hours.

At least some of that moisture was probably from the air inside the bag when you sealed it, then it just condensed so that it became visible. I wouldn't count that as a real accurate test.
