Manure spread in the light of the moon (from the day the moon is new to the day it is full) will dry up and blow away: in the dark of the moon (from the day after it is full to the day before it is new) will sink into the earth!

Lay a board on the grass in the light of the moon, the board will turn up and the grass will not die. Lay one down on the dark of the moon and it will curl down and kill the grass.

Don't matter over here in Northern Ireland....It usually rains enough to either wash it in or wash it away!

I don't know about drying up and blowing away, but there are a lot of truth's to the moon sign's. Dad was a big believer and when I was a kid I kinda doubted it. But as I have gotten older I am a firm believer as I have seen the positive results.

You will have to ask Sam but my dad told me you put the base stones for a fence down in the light of the moon or the stone fence would sink in the ground or was that backwards?!> well my fence would fall over anyway.
