I noticed no info on chart about how many deer it takes to completely disable the airfoil effects ~sick~

Interesting. I've seen several versions of this trying to achieve milage. The problem is doing it and staying within the length restrictions. Some states are giving the companies with those tails on their trailers problems for being too long now.

50 or so years ago I saw pictures of trucks for the future, now they are here.
Now If they could figure how to git rid of the ugly license plates

Would make for a great SNOW PLOW ahead of the state trucks . And i have to agree that trucks are getting to long . As i can remember when the 40 footers came out then the 42 the 45 's and the 48's and now the 53 footers . I can also remember hooking to one of the first 48 footers with my conventional and being three feet over length to haul a load of bag salt from Cleveland to Columbus and having to take the scenic route to avoid the Chicken houses . and that was with only a 210 wheel base .

Jon F, I was wondering about the over length on the envelopes trailers. Do they do that much good? The gauges on the prototype show very good mileage but the cruise control is set at only 55. Maybe it is a Schneider truck that hasn't been painted orange yet.

The cow-catcher front bumper and small windshield make it ressemble those early GE diesel locomotives (F-series?).

The surprising thing is our European trucks/lorries have all the aerodynamics of a brick and yet can achieve the same or similar MPG!

I'm not sure on the fuel milage increase. Dart just got their first ones so I'll know soon tho.

Maybe the gov't over there isn't cramming all the "greenie" regulations down your throat like here.

Don't you have some pretty strict speed restrictions too? And your trucks are actually pretty aerodynamic, the blunt front is not as bad as it looks.

Our trucks are restricted now to 65 mph, and we have real tough emmission controls....Tier4 and using adblue.....By the way there is a programme/ gadget to bypass the adblue system, not really legal, but then how many lorries are always legal????
