Well I was looking to get outside and do something, so here's what I did, plowed off the pond and I'm ice skating, I haven't done it in so many years I'm huffing and puffing! Lol. Anybody else ice skate? It's 22* out but a pretty good day, I was freezing when I was plowing, now in sweatin!

I Ice Skated once, but the ice kept sending back wise crack about my butt. I do love watching dance skating. Maybe a bucket list thing.

My wife was a principle dancer in the Ice Capades. I thus do skate (I started with my granddad's clamp-on rusty shoe skates). She has been teaching skating for 40 years. Jim

Yes I skate posted a while back about Winterlud in Ottawa in February. Can skate the canal for 7.5 miles I think. Also ice sculpture, slides for the kids great people good time. Used to skate both ways it sounds like a lot but its not that bad on skates.

I give you alot of credit skating that far, I couldent skate for 7.5 minutes straight just now! Lol, it's great excercise, I can't imagine how sore I'm gonna be tomarrow. If the ice stays good I'm gonna try and go out every day. My luck with this weather we"ll hit 60* and it will melt, or it will rain and be slush ! Lol.

Never had the balance to skate with any type but always aw Ted to. Had a hard time learning to water ski also decided it wouldn't be safe to try on snow.

we do that here, a friend brings the atv with plow or I snowblow it off, we have as many pick hockey games as the weather allows, last one was Jan 1st, darned weather just won't cooperate for a weekend, its a lot of fun, good work out and I get to see friends that I don't see so much, pond is 20 acres or so, endless areas to use. In '04 I made the Washington Post, front page of the sports section, went over the AP wire our little neighborhood game, well just the clearing and making of the rink, reporter did a story on us, title was "for the love of the game", and that was very true, given the blowing wind and drifting snow, the photos looked like the tundra.

When we got tired of ice skating, we used to take my brother's 1947 Kaiser down onto the pond. It was front end heavy, so all we had to do was get it started into a spin and it would go around and around and around with the front end anchored in the center.

Tried it with Dad's 1950 Plymouth; it wouldn't go around at all.

Using an ATV is cheating. We just put our skates on and pushed it off with shovels. Problem was playing hockey we kept losing the puck in the snow piles. If there was no snow out on the lake, when you scored a goal the puck would slide another fifty yards.

Yes I saw that, cold mid week so the ice will stay good, gonna run and get grain tomarrow morning, than out on the ice, brought my 2 year old daughter down this pm, no skates for her, but we had fun. Lol

Lol. Come on cut me some slack, I'd never been able to shovel off that much on skates! Lol, its prolly 10,000 sqft, I was gonna get out the little wonder blower to clean it down to bare ice, but the plow worked good enought!
