Over time I've noticed references that convince me that several of you are here in the Old Dominion. I was just curious how many and where you're based. My place is in Natural Bridge and I see that Buddy is out Tappahannock way.

Not VA but WV,I live in Charles Town, which isnt to far away.It would be nice if some of us could meet for dinner one evening

You need to use more emotocons, 4010- get with the program. You could even use them over and over, for emphasis.

Oh, wait- you ARE using them over and over, and its irritating- never mind. Forget I posted.

Located in Mount Holly across the Rappahannock River from Tappahannock. We are on the Potomac River side of the Northern Neck.

Grew up in Trevilians which is in Louisa county.
Uncles on both sides of family had farms in Louisa Co. which are now gone. One was a dairy farm, the other raised black Angus.
I now live in Chesterfield VA.

My wife works in Virginia,I buy my gas and groceries in Virginia, I do a lot of work in Virginia but I sleep in WV, don't farm for a living but I work on a lot of tractors and farm related equipment. Does any of that count?

I'm in Halifax co. Va. in the north corner. Live about 40 min. from Lynchburg. Raised tobacco up till 1979, then continued with cattle and off farm job till last year. Still working the off farm job. Will be 62 next month. I sold the cows when they got high mainly because I had a heart attack the prior year. Just had to slow down some. Been burning that candle from both ends a long time. I get tired some now.

I am down here in Chesapeake Va. Restoring a 411 Case. Used to farm with Dad and brothers north of the Mason Dixon Line in the 60's&70's. Spent a couple of years in Halifax County playing Machinist at the Clover Power Plant. Chuck

Not a farmer, but come from a family who farmed. Located outside of Roanoke, VA, between Roanoke and Martinsville.

Reading the thread, it seems that WV is home to a good number . I am in Hardy co. West of I 81 and Harrisonburg and Winchester Va. I can see the state line from my home. I am separating cattle today to sell at the harrisonburg sale Saturday and a load for the Winchester sale on Monday.Give me a shout, joho, we are in Hburg at least once weekly sometimes more.

Do you write for a magazine as well?

Near Harrisonburg here. Not full time farmer but few beef cows and had forty acres of corn for the first time this year. Corn finally came off last Tuesday night at less than ten degrees. Operator said he had never ice skated in a combine before...

No farming, just got a old 8n that takes care of the driveway and pony pasture.

Live in Beaverdam. NW corner of Hanover County not far from Lake Anna.

Glen Allen - have small amount of land in Mecklenburg.

Marty, Sometimes I like to stop at Stanley's Store, not Beaverdam, but I imagine you drive by there from time to time.

I do, a farmer rents it, mixture of tobacco and bean field. I own a separate lot that would be a perfect staging area for trucks with trailers, nice and dry. I could easily accommodate 10-20 old timey tractors. I could set up a food spot for grub. If you're really serious let me know. I usually go down to NC for plow days. The only thing I need to do is get the ok from the farmer that rents it. Spot would be in Mecklenburg County.

I'm in the northern corner of Halifax Co. also. I've read the post on this forum for years and often wondered if any of the members were close by. I never realized there was anybody on here that was so close to me. I'm 41 years old. I live on the 43 acre tobacco farm that my grandparents owned. We raised around 6 to 8 acres until 1990 when we rented our poundage out to another farmer. Now, I work @ the Caterpillar dealer in Lynchburg as a mechanic.
