Moon last night

Did anyone notice the strange looking moon last night around 6:00? It had rays that extended hoizontally and verticlly to form a cross with a full moon in the center.Ther were also 2 sun dogs/moon dogs that were each green,yellow and red.Ive never saw anything like it.
 
wish I had seen it,but it was overcast here last night this morning at 5:00am it was very bright though and seemed close I should have taken a pic

It was supposed to be the smallest looking moon (apagehy) of the year. It sure was bright here in central michigan last night. Didn't need a light to see, moon was enough!
 
There's a lot of stuff on Google about it. Google apogee moon.

Looked pretty normal here- probably ice crystals that gave it the pyrotechnics in your area.

apagehy = apogee - the point in the orbit of an object (as a satellite) orbiting the earth that is at the greatest distance from the center of the earth; also : the point farthest from a planet or a satellite (as the moon) reached by an object orbiting it - opposite of perigee.
 

Funny, I was reading the "Old Farmers Almanac" (2014) yesterday and it has an article on the subject of "Earth (and Moon) Dust-Rings) that may influence earth's weather.

May explain the severe events of storms, Tornadic activity, dust storms, as well as "Global Warming and cooling".

She is a 2nd Gen. scientist working on this subject (PHD)..

Worth reading, I think and may keep the Tree Huggers a little quieter..

I thought the sun bombarding Earth with something on the order of 20,000 times the energy the human race uses in a year could explain it, but I could be wrong, I"m not a scientist, ya know.
