Oliver 550 Hydraulic pump

I have an Oliver 550 that has a front-mounted hydraulic pump for the loader. The pump is now shot and I am looking for another one but am not having any luck. If anyone can help me with this please respond. I have pictures of the pump but do not know how to post that picture on this site. I could attach it to a e-mail. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Collis A. Snead

That is a common problem for many hydraulic systems. When I used to teach a hydraulic pump class I used to give the students some failed pumps, the formula you use and let them calculate the size then look in a pump catalog to select a suitable replacement You can do that as well. I will need a snail main address to send you the information.

J. Schwiebert: I would be interested in that formula as well. I would also have a need for the way to figure the GPM on a hydraulic motor. I have several that I can't find any information on. I would like to know the displacement of the motors as they might work on some projects I have in mind.

I have the same tractor and faced that same problem. I couldn't find a replacement so I decided I should first of all open that old pump up and see if I could repair anything. Turns out the key was sheared on the shaft. What a dumb mistake for not checking that first! So I installed a new key and it ran for a few more years until this past summer and it stopped working again. This time I checked the key and YUP, it's sheared again. I guess I must overwork it or the key stock is made softer these days, but my experience is that the pump itself is actually surprisingly tough :!: :!:
