So, How's the Weather?

Mid thirties, temps rising, and rain and fog coming in. Now, for another round of mud.....

I shovelled 16-30" of wind driven snow off my roof over the last 3 days. Its cloudy and 35 F. and supposed to rain.

The cold weather problems are now shifting to stream and river flooding. It hasen't happened yet, as temps are just above freezing now, but rain and 50's are predicted and the ice in streams is thick and can jam easily. NYSDOT has hired contractors with big trackhoes and some are starting to remove ice now. Others are on standby at problem spots, with equipment on site. Before the cold hit we had warm weathera and lot of rain and the streams just built more ice jams. If they let loose they will jam up somewhere else, and cause bigger problems.

Here at Farmer City, IL it was 38 and raining. Secondary roads have some slush but is melting fast. Seeing some bare fields. I just put AMS 5% from ADM on yesterday. Hope it stays put for a while.

Still some wind, but not as strong. Light snow/drizzle, but not enough to make the main roads slippery. Got up to +28F today...55 degrees warmer than it was at 5:30 yesterday morning. A NICE change!

Rain and fog in north Arkansas. The roads iced up yesterday but there is enough thaw today that the ground is starting to get soft. The next few days there probably won't be a bottom.

I don't know about the Midwest and the East but here in Florida I'm out in the shop in shorts and a T shirt. It's 76 degrees and got up to 80 this afternoon. Supposed to cool off middle of next week. Should be a little cool for the show at the Florida Flywheeler park starting Wednesday

Still mild and around 38-43F here in N. Ireland. We have had a few nice sunny days this week, but it is near freezing point tonight after some light rain today.

I certainly will Al is on the same row as I am and I'll find Ray. Wish you were going to be able to come over and see all of us. Would love to sit and talk. Maybe you can make it over in February

Our local DOT trucks and men were sent to Long Island to help clear snow then this week they went to Watertown NY to help clear the 5' of lake effect snow they had the last few days then this morning we got about 2 1/2" so they were out again I bet they will be glad to see the rain forecast for tomorrow but will probably have flooding to deal with.

Sweet This is just typical central Florida weather. I've seen 25 degrees one morning and in the high 70's two days later. But then again in the middle of the summer the weather doesn't change at all. It's hot and it rains just about every day and then it gets hotter. But I wouldn't live any where else

Was raining here at 6 and the roads were getting slick. The main roads weren't too bad yet but the side road I live on was glare ice. Both my wife and myself slid right by the driveway when we tried to pull in. Atleast we kept going straight so we just turned around/backed up and got in. Had to salt the driveway like crazy to get up to the house

what the hel- is a polar vortex???? just something for the weather man to talk about! was it cold ya but it sure was not the end of the world just another day coldest we had was -27 but I worked out side everyday just like any other day. every car, truck, and my little TO-20 ferguson tractor started and everything has 15-40 oil in it and none are pluged in. but I guess the weather man has to have something to talk about. just a good old fashion winter

1:30 AM and just above freezing point about 12 minutes north of Syracuse NY. Weatherguesser now calling for about 55* on Saturday.

Gary,

Just not up to a long day of walking anymore, and the golf cart traffic is a bit much over there. A buddy and I have rented a golf cart before, but they really are an imposition on the walking folk.

Maybe we could hook up in April. The wife and I will be at Sun 'n fun for the whole week, me driving a tractor and she conducting on a tram. We usually go over with the RV on Saturday before the show starts and don't have much to do until Monday.

My e-mail is open.

Stan

Glad you are staying south. It takes a real man to live here in the polar bear country although we do get a coupe of nice days here that we call "summer".

FLOLDFORD,

I know, I have a cousin who lives in southern Florida. When we phone each other during winter months - she loves to tell me how warm it is there.

Guess that shows that all Floridians are mean... JUST KIDDING! LOL!
