Case IH JX 95 Clutch is a bear to push

My 2007 model JX 95 cab tractor has the hardest clutch I have ever encountered. It is very stiff and I measured that it takes 180 pounds of pressure to fully depress it. That is with a bathroom scale between the pedal and foot.

An internet search did not find anything beyond comments that the tractor is "tiring" to drive. No one offered solutions other than check and lube everything. I do have a loader and the tractor has a standard shuttle forward and reverse, but you must fully depress the clutch to go from forward to reverse.

Does anyone have a similar issue? Any solutions?

The clutch is surely binding somewhere. Can you see in behind the clutch housing even through a hole, you could spray it through. Maybe the throw-out bearing is binding on the trans shaft. My good friend has a Massey Ferguson I think a 395. He complained about the clutch for 5 or 6 years. I happened to need to drive it and the clutch came up almost to your knee. There was a slot in the petal and I droped it down to the same level as the brakes. He said made it a new tractor. He had talked to the dealer about it a couple of times and they said that was how they all were. Does it even have a clutch? Most newer tractors just have a hyd valve for a clutch.

Neighbours JX75 had a dry clutch but only about 100 lbs on the pedal, but it had trouble with the linkage frequently slipping out of adjustment.

I had a fellow try and trade one in on a new Kubota. This was last fall. Tractor only had 248 hrs and I just asked hey what is wrong with this tractor. His comments were this is the biggest mistake I ever made in my life. Tractor is hard to drive, clutch kills my knee, cab leaks everwhere and very noisy. We never could get together on price but he latter sold it and cam back and bought new Kubota. His was a cab unit.
