Email Contacts

Is there an email list on this site anywhere? I'm guessing not, but it seems like it might be handy. Sometimes I'll search a topic and see something from so and so 3 years ago that is really helpful, and I wish I could contact them with a question. And it doesn't do much good to throw a post in on an old topic unless they have the email box checked, which I'm guessing less than half the users do.

It seems like it would be a good way to contact a person instead of putting a post up and hoping they see it. I know a lot of people want their privacy, but I would guess a lot of guys wouldn't care if their email was available to someone with a question that only knew their handle and nothing else.

Maybe I'll try the feedback forum.

Thanks.

Well I used to be real free with my email and phone number. Not now. I would not want my email out to just any body. My phone number to even fewer people.

Kind of funny. Your asking about email contacts and you do not have your email open.

Well if you want my email, I'll figure out to get it to you if I didn't get it right this time.

All I'm saying is that it would be nice to be able to get in touch with people about a past topic if you had a question, either with a phone number or email or whatever. Even if a person could contact the YT people and get through to someone that way? I realize there are a lot of morons out there that would make things difficult if the emails were readily accessible, but anyway I've said enough.

UP Oliver: I was just yanking your chain some.

The current system here on YT does relay a message to the email of the person your trying to contact. You (the sender) do not contact the poster directly. Your message is sent on to the poster from this site. Then it up to the receiving party to further the contact.

This actually works fairly well. I have not gotten any spam this way. I used to reply to all right away. Now I am a little more discerning on who I return contact with.

On here my e-mail is almost always open other then to a few that have been a problem. I have given my home number out to a good many over the years so that when they needed help fast I could help them if I knew how that is

Noticed your post says NO EMAIL. Does that answer your question?
I would leave my mail open if asking a question about a tractor but not for others because of all the spamers.

I have found the same situation and have resorted to posting a question with the name of the person I was trying to contact in the subject line. About 75% of the time, they see it and reply.

Hey I don't mind, you can yank all you want. This whole thing started when I saw some really nice pictures a guy put up showing how he built his shop. He used his loader on his tractor in a way I would never have thought of; not making excuses for myself but I'm kind of new to the tractor world; got my first one at 37.

Anyway, it was months later and I really wanted to contact him with a question; which I am guessing around 99.99% of the users on this site would have no problem with, myself included. So I did not know what else to do besides watch the posts and when I finally saw one from him I explained the situation and of course he was more than happy to help me out. It just seems that on a site this helpful it should be easier to get in touch with someone even if they forget to put up their email like I do most of the time.

Thanks.
