ok i got a dumb and totaly off the wall question on classic deeres, the spoker D in 1923 has a 4 slot steering wheel on the end of the spokes of the steering wheel there are 4 round holes all other holes are slotted, in a picture of one of the 112 model C's which later became the model GP, the steering wheel is solid but these same 4 holes apear in the rim, in all the pics in the book, nothing apears to use these holes, yet there obviously desiged for something, i cant picture anybody installing a spinner handel here as to use it he would have to have arms directly related to king kong himself,so what were these holes for???

On the GP Steering wheel, the holes are used to set the rivets on the round(wheel) outside to the steering wheel center support. A steering knob was available starting at ser# 30400 for the Model D.
