Re: My weather report

Well, I made it home @ about 9pm. Went to UofM in Ann Arbor and back to Lansing, then Meijer in DeWitt for groceries for us and the in-laws, got them delivered and made it home.

I really have to give the Clinton County Road Commission, and all the road crews, kudos today for having all the main roads (that I was on) plowed so early. I thought all the roads were in great shape for all the snow we got (12"+). Snow covered and some slick, but plowed nicely. All drivers had to do is drive slower and be cautious.

It was +10 degrees when I left this morning and -11 when I got back. Used the Ford F250 diesel pickup and it performed flawlessly, even in the subzero weather. I did put some white jug Power Service in it.

Lol, that's gonna stir up the guys, a ford and power service? That's what I use also, in my 2000 f250 power stroke, but you should know by now, ford diesels are no good, and neither is power service . Lol

Yeah, the 7.3s were some of the best Ford ever offered in a pickup. Heard by the grapevine that it was discontinued because of goobermint meddling.

(quoted from post at 00:07:59 01/07/14) The 7.3's both IDI's and Powerstroke DI's, were an IH engine. Ford wanted their own and designed the 6.0

FYI The 6.9 & 7.3 IDI, 7.3 DI, 6.0, & 6.4 were all IH/Navistar engines. Ford severed ties with them and created their own Diesel with the 6.7 Powerstroke. BTW ford owns the "Powerstroke" name

Yep, you can thank the EPA for their emissions standards, just like LSD and now ULSD. It not only caused the end of the good ol' 7.3's but also the end of the trusty Cummins 5.9 12V. Chevy sourced the Duramax but didn't leave much behind to be desired. The modern diesels are producing far greater power numbers but what they haven't quite figured out is the reliability and mileage. Its coming around I think or hope..
