RICK

sounds like a wild grass my dad called nut grass, looks and acts like burmuta grass ,has a root system looks a web or carpet, you got it in one of your bags of seed , dont worry it will be back next yr , its tough to get rid of if its what i got in my yd that i didnt want. good luck tom.

Heaven help you if it was nutgrass (Nutsedge). You will never get rid of it. Any of he family of Sedges are a mess. Cheet grass is very fine and it browns out. If you walk through it you will have the arrow shaped seed stuck in your clothes.

Nutgrass is very coarse and lime green. It looks a lot like the ornamental grass people put by their houses Lariope or Monkey Grass.

It spreads like wildfire. Not with runners but underground where you can't see it. If I remember right it is a riosome. Pull one and look at the roots. They are spaghetti thick and will have tiny peanut looking things on them. Those are the "nuts". If I thought it would help I would tell you to kick it there.

Did you buy the seed? Was there a tag on the bag? Do you have a NRCS office that can come out and identify the Grass?
