Pretty bad when Anchorage Alaska is warmer

Just saw on the news that it is warmer in Anchorage Alaska then it is here in Missouri. Just came in from checking the water tanks and chickens water. Had to bring in the chicken water thing to thaw it out but that is pretty normal this time of year
 
Anchorage gets warm Pacific current close by to moderate the temperature. Brother was stationed there with Army engineers some years back and found the Iowa temps at home lower than the Anchorage temp a couple times. Missouri just needs a large body of warm water close by to be warmer like Alaska coast- Al Gore said that the Gulf waters would be up to St Louis area shortly, but when a English Judge says "Inconvenient Truth" has a couple false statements that must be disclosed when shown in England or pay forfeiture you can sort of think he is a liar. Take a lesson from the Finns- go to Sauna. RN
 
the north always warms up when they dump the cold air south, they would still be cold if it hadn't come our way...I forget what the term is that the weather man uses.....but I just say BRRRRRR
 
I'm at my Vac. home in south central Yukon Canada & it is just below freezing right now with 2 MPH wind. My summer home is in Iowa. My friends used to give me a hard time about going north for the winter. But so many times it is warmer here than in Iowa. I'm leaving here in about a month to go back to Iowa & I'm not looking forward to the cold.
 
bout a week ago it was -44 in Fairbanks ak, real feel was -32? today was high of 16, low of -4. last year at one point was -70. I watch the temps on my phone as we vacation in Fairbanks for 2 weeks in late june every year. last summer when we were there it was over 90-95 for three days while there, record. it was 70-75 at home in ec-wis! told us after last winter people were talking about leaving the state because paying for heat used up most of there paycheck
