Great Tiday Bore

Do any of you folks that live north of the border around New Brunswick and near the Petitcodiac river close to Moncton ever witness the tidal bore?

If you have, is there some tractors in the river that one can see vhen the tide is oat?

I'm near the Shubenacadie River in Nova Scotia which has a good tidal bore. I'm not aware of much visible once the tide goes out. I would think if there was anything lost in the water it would be sucked out to sea and covered with silt in short order. There's some pile of force behind that tide. Sam

During Christmas, the subject of tides came up for some reason. I lived on the Island of Newfoundland for two years at Ernest Harmon Air Force base when I was in the Army back in the 50's. I never remember anything about tides. For the first couple months I lived in St. Georges on the other side of the bay with the supply Sgt. from the co. and we crossed the bridge on the inland end of the bay twice a day going to an from base. I must have been preoccupied or have forgotten anything about the tide. We did some fishing on the beach and a lot of river fishing also. Seems strange I don't recall anything about tides when it had to be happening. Was called the Rock,(the island that is). Some spoke of pulling the plug and sinking it when they left. Now, I would love to go back there, but that is not going to happen.

seen the tidle bore many times .
most are only couple of inches .
but the big ones run about 2 feet , realy neat .
the rush of the water is powerfull have only seen mud and rocks .
the bore only happens where the land narrows the bay and the tide is forcing the water up fast and hard .

I drove past it once but didn't see the tide come in. On U-tube there is a video of surfers riding the bore past Moncton.
