Bill Elbe passed away tonite , loving husband and Dad to 5 ...after army service in the pacific during ww2 , he went to work at international harvester corporation, he quietly boasted he ran the machine that cut all the bull gears that went into the Louisville tractors .. he was a fine machinist, a great dancer, with a nice sense of humor , And is certain to be in heaven already , lookin for my Dad and others he knew in this life ,, I sure Hope He finds them .. Lol

I am very sorry for your loss. Your Uncle was another one of a "Great" generation. They survived the depression and then won a world war. Even more important they came home and built a good country into a great country.

I'm so sorry to read about your Uncle passing . I too Pray he's in Heaven enjoying some of the Glory he is promised . I hope he was able to pass on lots of his knowledge from his past . Those people that so boldly fought for America during that battle , can be remembered as heroes . May Gods peace & comfort be felt during these times . God bless , Ken

Had an uncle that worked for the IH Engine plant (Truck engines) in Indianapolis. He Died of Cancer way before his time; when I was about 1 year old in 1972. I cant remember; but want to say He was around 36.

Remember all the best he gave.
I had a professor at Colorado State who was a design engineer on the Super series transition to disk brakes. (not much to brag on there) Jim

little bit about uncle Bills ww2 times , he was on the solomen , islands ,Guadalcanal , and even made it to new Zealand and Australia ..always spoke about the natives and their behavior and customs ,he could a been a teacher of social studies .. LOL .rarely spoke about the enemies he was fightin , other than to say when the nnalert threw out a daisey cutter at them , he went out afterwards and found a crikled partial FORD Oval ..he also mentioned , there were long stretches between shipments of supplies ,because they were cut off from American supply ,, all ammo and food was used sparingly... the nnalert too had the same problem on their island and were desperately stealin from them at nite.and eatin monkeys . LOL ... He and Dad were pals growin up enlisted in february 42,(dad was on 4island battle campaigns , starting in the marshalls , saipan , philipines and Okinawa, pop was injured 3 times ,and was in hospital on phillipines and Honolulu , I wrote His Eulogy, It is in{ Your Stories} Eulogy for Dad ) .bills future wife Rosalie was and is still a beauty ,. ( Dads sister) was married to Chet before the war, and had 2 young sons,,all the men enlisted went to war ,, but chet never came back from europe...so bill and Rosalie married and raised the boys and had 5 more ,..
