O/T Conditions around Belding, Ionia, and 66 North to M-57

I'm planning a rabbit hunt for Saturday around the Flat River State Game Area between Belding and Fenwick. What are conditions like? Lots of ice, trees and wires down, etc? Thanks.

Not quite as bad as it is south of here. Trees are hanging a little low. Biggest problem is going to be walking. There's a layer of ice between the snow on top and the snow on the bottom. Not thick enough to hold you,you'll be breaking through every step.

Thanks, Randy. That's the kind of snow we have too. Hoping I can sit on a stool and let the dogs run them by. LOL!! It's supposed to warm up; won't help with the ice under but the rabbits should be active. Don't need to kill any but I'll take a couple if I get the chance. Just love that beagle music!!!

I have never run them on snowshoes but I expect they would. My running buddy is heading to the UP Saturday to run snowshoes. I have a cousin around Houghton Lake, not far from Butterfield Church. I think he has snowshoes and cottontails.
