10.00am on Christmas morning and the shadows are still
long....but the sun is out and it is a beautiful day...37degrees and a
predicted 41 here in Northern Ireland. The picture of my home in the sunshine was taken today , the snow picture was taken in January 2 years ago! We had a freak cold snap then.
The tractors have got a day
or two off....No drivers!.....Let's see your tractors this Christmas
day. Don't go eating too much or drinking any wobbly water,
remember it is the last one that makes you fall down!
Happy Christmas

Believe it or not, Bob., I built this house in 1985/6 and still have some work to do. I got some help with the difficult bits like the roof and wiring but I did the building myself....stone and all!. We like the old Victorian style and design but there was nothing for sale close enough to our farm anything like what we wanted...So I built on a green field site. The house is built with concrete block and an insulated cavity, with the stone built against the outside skin. We have an old Victorian range in the living room,

It burns wood and coal and we have an oil fired range in the kitchen for cooking with an electric backup cooker for the warm summer months. The rest of the house is heated with hot water radiators heated with an oil fired boiler......We only have had to turn this heater on 3 times this winter!

Another talented mick, Real nice job on the stone work, at least if the farming life goes south you'll have a job.

I don't know if our tractors knew that it was Christmas, but I always seemed to sense that our livestock knew. There seemed to be a calm about them that wasn't usually there.

Sam You have nice house. The tractors are needing GIFTS. LOL

You need some snow and cold to make it seem like Christmas!!!! I had -20F or -29C yesterday morning. We have 6 inches of snow on the ground too. I enjoyed the boys doing the chores. LOL

I watch the "Up and Attem" daily weather reports down in Tales, and I think your climate and mine in the Pacific Northwest are the most similar. Kind of dreary in winter, rains are frequent but not heavy, temps in low 40's F, ocassional cold snaps down into the teens once or twice a winter. Summers usually pretty dry, 70's with highs rarely above 85 F. Our summers are probably the best anywhere, but wouldn't mind a little Arizona influence in the winter.

I also enjoy your pictures. Glad you are "on the board".
