Went out to put up the chicken like I do every evening. I heard an odd noise coming from the well house. Went to check it out and saw water running out of the door. Well house is a 4X10 building 8 foot tall. Opened up the door and had water spraying all over the place out of the check valve which is mounted just above to casing cap. I had noticed low water pressure today and should have checked it out but didn't due to cooking. So I had to make a fast run to town around 5:30 PM to buy a new check valve. Took me longer to drive to town then to fix the problem. Oh well that old check valve was only about 20 or so years old. Broke about the center of the brass casting.
