Ford 660 Rear Wheel Studs

I'm working on a Ford 660 and need to know what all I'll have to do to get the rear wheel studs into the axle. I had some wheel studs broke off in the axle. I got them out. Now I need to know how to get the new studs in. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Well if you have to old ones out all I ever do is put the new one in. Put a stack of washers on and then tighten the nut down til the stud is pulled down and locked in place

You have two choices:

1. Pull the axle, split the bearing retainer collar and remove the axle so as to install the studs. Pack the bearing, which probably has not been packed in 25+ years, and replace both seals before reassembly. you will need a new bearing retainer collar.

2. Drill a hole in the backing plate in the location specified in the service manual so that you can drive the stud(s) in from the inside.
