Posted below as well, but wondering if anyone would anyone know a part # for the points and condenser for a 1954 Massey 55 Gas? I can probably get them crossed over if anyone has something to start with. Thanks in advance - Bob

Go to your local NAPA.Tell em what you are working on.Take SN if you have it.They have books that will list the correct part/numbers.They will probably be in stock. If not ,they can have them the next morning.Take the old ones as a sample for comparisin.

Thanks Steve. The tractor is 30 miles away and I was hoping to get parts today so I can take them with me. Bob

There book will list the MH55 as a farm tractor and from that unless there was 2 or more distributor made for it then they should be able to hand you a set of points. I would not change the condenser. Now days you have a 5/50 chance the new condenser will be bad

Look at Neihoff # AL-5-23HV for points.
Same as used in some Packards, Studebaker, Nash and Willys 1942-1956 with IAD 4008 dist.

Many thanks. NAPA had them, so I'll cross my fingers they are correct. Thanks to all again - Bob

Are you the Bob in KS that lists the 55 for sale? Looks like a nice tractor. I remember driving a Massey Harris 444 in the 1960s. Another nice tractor!

That's me. I am going to push it in the shop this weekend and get it running. Shouldn't take much. This tractor has rested in an enclosed wooden shed for the last 25 or so years. The 60 year old son in law said he thinks he was the last to drive it in the shed. His FIL had cancer and passed away shortly after. Sat in the shed ever since, but the land is selling and it had to go. It will make someone (maybe me) a nice one. Excellent paint and condition. Bob

Bob,

I learned you are an acquaintance of Massey Pride from Beverly. I've been in email contact with him discussing Massey Harris combines.

Don't know Massey Pride, but sure I would know him by name. I grew up 3 miles East of Beverly. Live about 12 miles East now. Bob
