If they made a reality TV series of farming, I wonder how bad it vould be screwed up?
The shows such as Ax Men, Ice Road Truckers, just to name a couple.
I see they are going to make a show aboot the Money Pit in Oak Island, I bet that vill be a joke.

I kind of like one that we get on the weather channel, Highway Through Hell, it is about a towing company "risking it all" to make a few bucks by pulling tractor trailers out of the ditch, pretty cool to see the way that they rig these things! It is based on the Coquhallia high way in Canada, just so happens that this starts right at the border crossing that is only about an hour from my house! Bryce

wasnt there one about parris hilton and wife swap and dont forget green acres or watch mike rowe on u tube watch castarating sheep good coments on peta

There was one about custom wheat combining through the midwest on History Channel (I think). They tried to build drama into with lazy workers, bossy boss, and making field fires from combine sparks really dramatic. It didn't last but 3-4 episodes.

Bryce,

We have good friends in Mission, and have traveled the Coq in our respective RVs several times, but not in winter like they show on the Highway through Hell show.

They're (Jamie Davis) based in Hope - isn't that where the big slide buried the town some years ago?

Stan

Ya you know, now that I think about it, that does sound right? I think that big slide destroyed like half of Hope? Jamie Davis was the name of the guy that owned it. Pretty cool the way the they rigged stuff with that crane truck! Bryce

watching gunsmoke no road apples on street what gives live next to amish they leave road apples ever see a western movie that has a town with road apples on street

Ya right fist off people need to understand what reality is. Now days the common man takes what he sees on TV and believe what they see is true. Be it the News or be it the reality shows only about maybe 5% is real the rest is what ever they want to say

The Hope Slide is on the way out on the Hope Prinston Hwy toward Manning park. There weren't any houses but about 10 cars were burried if I recall.

The Coq is a more direct route - it was a toll hwy up until a few years ago. Its pretty nice with some spectaculars rock / ice scapes - Yak Peak is very cool in the spring.

In a blizzard it can be ugly - btdt. They will close it for avi control from time to time. Rocket lanch stations at various points on the hwy. Overall like any road - use common sence and slow down.

Its well worth a drive.

I watch the closest thing on TV that is what I call REALITY. "The Waltons". I don't watch enough TV to justify having one.

If that's the one I saw a few months ago, about ten minutes of it turned my stomach and I had to turn it off. They were in some big drama where they had a week to build a fence and get FSA funding or some such chit. They talked like some dullard rubes. I couldn't take it!

About the closest I would come would be "The Incredible Dr. POL." On the National Geographic channels. Follows a older rural veterinarian around as he does his rounds. I've seen an episode or two, and they are pretty realistic. I may be on an upcoming episode - we took three llamas to him for castration. I didn't get to see the actual operation as I was holding the animal up against the gate while the good Dr. did his thing, but that's OK, I've seen it all before, and done a few myself. Unfortunately, I don't have access to those channels, no cable, no satellite, so no show!

You're right about that one. I can't believe the "anti's" haven't had a fit about that show. It proves that all animals die, either from accident, illness or for their intended use. Shows too that antibiotics are essential and even used by the organic operations when needed to save an animals life. Plenty of blood and guts on screen too.

The show "Dirty Jobs" was more realistic than most reality shows. I enjoyed that one, is it still being made?

I liked that about the road apples not on GUNSMOKE Matt Dillon made them clean up the apples, The Amish need to have a little respect and cleanup there mess!!!

The town snowplow goes by here every 4 hrs. with plow down. Must be us town taxpayers are paying to clear that corse gravel that was put down. If everyone traveled with horse and buggy, the plow would only have to go by once a week.
It has snowed for most of the days of November, and Dec. but there is only about 10-12" of snow on the ground, at the moment.

Yeah, farm kings was the one I was talking about.

Done enough logging and cutting wood to shake my head and grin at Ax Men, too.

Dr. Pol isn't too bad.

It was cancelled over a year ago. The 4 shows from Australia were the last. The host appeared on stage with the wrong presidential candidate, after sending the same open letter to both candidates.
I wouldn"t be surprised if it was a mutual agreement to end the show. He wasn"t happy with the way the Australian episodes were edited. It wasn"t near as suspenseful and dangerous as they made it out to be when they were tracking the water buffalo and such.
But hey, we"ve now got "JOBS THAT BITE!!!". Hosted by a Mike Rowe look-alike, visiting the same places, even the same 2 camels humping on the same southern California dairy as when Mike visited.

We had a film crew in our town. Everyone was excited about it. Until the show it the TV. Animal Rescue I believe it is called. They came to get a few tigers from a place where the tigers were treated for injuries.

They were called to rescue them from an evil owner. No they were called by the owner to come get them. Because she was sick and not able to take proper care of them.

The man in the pickup. May be a protester starting trouble. No he was the ranch hand to helped take care of the tigers. Coming to see in they needed any help

The Sheriff Deputies were there to protect then from the towns people. No they were there to protect the film crew in case a tiger got loose.

All the towns people were rude and hostile towards the film crew.Funny they didn't say a word about the free meals and hotel rooms. That the hostile towns people gave them.

I quit watching it a couple of years ago. Some of the crap on there is just plain made up and plain to see that it is.

Besides I watch TV for relaxation. Why would I want to watch a couple of goons squabbling over nothing? Enough of that in the "reality" of day to day living.
