anybody remember the ember days

remember the ember days will we be plowing snow or dirt? the three for this fall were right on.
wensday is supposed to be the way the weather is in january friday for feburary and saturday for march hope i got it right .will the old farts be right or will the computor geeks get it right . i love that stuff when some 80 + guy tells you thats the way dad did it

Hope that holds true. It is suppose to get up to 38 here today.

I'll take 38 in January anytime here in SE Iowa.

I think you are refering to the old equinox weather forcasting. In my area the three days were nice, warm, sunny, very little wind from the southwest. Forecast sure did not work in my area. It has been cold, windy, and a lot of snow so far this December.
It is usually a little more reliable than this year. We had an old neighbor that used to go out every 4 hours for 3 days. I forgot exactly what he was looking for. But, his method was a lot more accurate than mine.

typical New England weather this year - in that there is no typical.

0 degrees yesterday morning, Sunday's supposed to get up to 59.

Around here, I think anybody could predict what this winter will be like and manage to get it mostly right.

Yep - I've been reporting snow to the NWS since the program began here in upstate New York in 1993 or 1994. I'm NY-TG-5 - used to be N5508 in the old numbering scheme.

I am about 35 miles north of Wellman.

I have a daughter that lives just south of wellman. So I know a few folks down there.

Our friends live on the old family farm of his great grandfather and raise beef, pork, chickens and eggs for the local markets. They seem to be doing very well with it. We have visited them several times. Been there when it was too hot to breathe and when it was too cold to breathe.
