Great Day Today

Went out this morning to plow the snow out the temp was -12. Started the tractor up and let it sit and run. Plowed to the road and back and the tractor quit. Fuel jelled. Dump some 911 in it let it sit and then it started up and I got it back to the shed. Got to change filters tomorrow. Got in the skid steer and it would not start. Been having problems with it this fall. I have checked glow plugs and every thing else out it was all fine. Looked in the radiator I don't know why but guess what I found oil. What are some of the cause of this. I think I already know but you guys have more experence than I have. One good thing is I parked it under my A frame. Went back in the house where it was warm

actual oil in the radiator or jus an oily sheen. Oily sheen is normal. Been reading about it on here, and my neighbor has also been havng problems with local diesel jelling up on him. Begining to sound like a widespread problem.

Nope oil. Stuck a screw driver in the anti freeze and it came back oily black. I have some fuel here in a can that isn't jelled but real close. Have to go to the CO op tomorrow and have them come out and fill my tank I guess

Yeah, had one of those days too. Saturday wife came back from trip complaining her Trail Blazer was all over the road. Thought 4wd was out. Tried it out and seemed she was right - could hardly get it out of the driveway and back in. Took it into car repair facility and they confirmed it was out. When they put it up on the lift one of the front struts sprung a leak and dumped oil all over the floor. Going to have to replace mechanism that engages 4wd and motor that engages it, plus the strut. Going to cost me a grand to get it fixed. Can"t not fix it. Blazer is a pig on ice in 2wd. One part is in Grand Rapids - delivery today. Other part is in Detroit - delivery tomorrow if lucky.

On the bright side, preheated diesel PU/snowplow, it started right up, and diesel did NOT jell!

If your ST oil cooler is in the radiator it could have a pin hole leak inside the rad. If you are loosing some hydraulic fluid and the coolent seems to overflo then you have found the problem. Solutions, replace or rebuild the rad or remove the oil cooler lines and by pass the rad. These are low pressure lines.

Had a similar day. Wanted to haul hay home while the snow was too cold to be slippery. Took the 1365 FWA up to the field with the four wheel drive pickup and gooseneck trailer. Loaded 12 bales, got home to unload them and when I went to start the Oliver 1600 gas,the starter groaned and smoked and that was the end of that. I had to take the one off the 1550 to start it to unload hay for the rest of the day.
