SMDV with adjustable wide front

I bought this 1953 tractor and it has the adustable wide front and battery box under the seat. All the 53 highcrops that I have seen had the arched front axle.

Very nice tractor. Pretty rare indeed. I do not know the origin of the axle. It looks to be IH, but I also have only seen one other SMDV, and IIRC it had the non-adjustable axle. Jim

SMTAV's have that front end and they are all 1954 models.
