replacing hyd pump safty valve

Do you need to drain any oil before opening the left hand access plate and attempting to r&r the 8n hyd pump safty valve? Sounds easy enough by reading the 72 tips section. Or is it? Thanks

Don't think you need to drain any oil, can't remember for sure but had that cover off and were running the tractor to see why the three point was acting funny. And could see the safety leaking off causing the problem. This was in 1995, though, at tech school. chris

No draining needed but you might leak just a tad bit since the bottom bolt hole is also used the check fluid level so as to double check the dip stick is the correct one.
