That would deffinately be Bill's handicap lift. This was the most fun I can remember having with a project. It really taxed my abilities as a fabricator and it turned out great. Bill uses it regularly and is very pleased.

Years ago I knew a man wanted one of these. However, his family didn't want him on a tractor. Neat idea. Go in to business making these.

That was a great project for an even better cause. Well done.

Any word on the truck yet? That Texans on ice comment must have stirred up some Karma. LOL

To be honest, I thought they knew. I feel a little like I told them Santa is not real.

You mean Santa is NOT REAL? You must have watched Amish Mafia.
I moved to Texas in 1967, learned most Texans can't drive well on anything but a straight dry road. Add rain accidents go up.
Add snow or ice and all h** l breaks loose. But of course no way to learn because it just doesn't happen that often here.
In upstate NY I used to get 4 months of practice every year. In fact I used to go to a 2 acre parking lot at the high school every time it snowed & school was out & just create spins. & slides, how to stop them & how to make them worse. Was a lot of fun & a great learning tool.

jon f mn,
About 10 years ago my sister moved to Florida. The roof on her boat dock was too low, you banged your head on it. Her neighbor built boat lists, so he had all the cable and pulleys we needed. The roof of dock was supported by 6 posts. I rigged up a moveable pulley system, used 2x6, cut the 6x6 supports in half. Turned on the boat lift and the roof went up to the surprise of her neighbor who said we needed a sky hook if were going to raise the roof. We lowered the roof 28 inch 6x6 supports and capped the posts with 8x8 treated.

Well roof is still standing. Others in her neighborhood tried raising their roofs using jacks and their roofs went for a swim in the lake.

Nice to see you used your brain to come up with a neat solution to a problem many old farmers face. I built a step for my neighbor to get on and off his 55 Massey. He is 76.

Jon,
As Sonny and Will would say, "We need to get these big wheels TURNING". HeHe.
You did a great job on the lift for your friend. Well thought out, strong, and user friendly.

To me the best part was you going ahead with it, without engineer stamped plans, and manufacturers liability insurance and all the rest of the c#*%p that the naysayers were sayng that you needed at the time.
