Hi guys, quick question for ya. I have a diesel Case 1070, I think they are right around 110HP. I"m curious as to whether or not it will pull a 12 row 22" JD 7000planter with liquid fertilizer in a conventional tillage program. I"m in northern central Michigan with clay ground.

Thanks
Jeff

If you don't have separate knives or openers for the liquid fertilizer you'll be fine. If you have separate openers for the fertilizer you'll still pull it but you'll know you're hooked to something. Maybe BigJT can chime in if he's reading this. I think he plants with a rig a little like that with about the same size tractor, if I remember right.Jim

I don't think you'll have any trouble pulling it. the problem is going to be the hydraulics. ask about this over on the CASE board.

Neighbor pulled a 12 row 30" 7000 with dry fertilizer with a 4020 on flat river bottom ground, you should be alright with your 1070, might want duals tho. Chris

Very good info from all. I also live in Central MI and there is some heavy clay out west/north west of town. Also am assuming you've owned this 1070 for long enough to know that 110hp from a 451 w/5" stroke and big valves will out pull the short stroke turboed 300-400 cid car/truck motored 110 hp tractors anytime.

My neighbor had the first 12 row Deere in the neighborhood. He pulled it with a 1030 Case for years. It was set up for no till for a few of those years.

I've actually only had the 1070 for two years, it's my first diesel tractor. Been very impressed with it. It sat in a shed for about 15 years with nothing being done to it. Put batteries in it, changed the fluids and filters, flushed out the fuel tank. Fired right up, only rolled over a dozen or so times. It's quite the work horse and very easy on fuel.

I pull a 10 rn 7000 with my 1070 in 3-2 and 1400-1500 rpm and it doesn't know it is back there we don't have any steep hills or fert. on the planter though,I do stop on the ends to raise it but with the price of seed I don't need to string it out on the ground anyway, I pulled a 7000 8rw with my 830ck before that. I do run straddle duals on the 1070 more for stability than anything
