Belarus Emergency/Hand brake shaft broken

G"day,

I have just discovered I have accidentlly sheared of the hand brake shaft of my Belarus 920. Does any one know an easy way to extract the remaining piece of shaft, or can it be pushed out from the other side via the left brake area?

Thanks
Paul

Hi
Im guessing you accidentally drove your tractor round a corner with the park brake on "wink wink" I have never tried this fix, all the ones I fixed just had the splines twisted 1/2 spline out and parts destroyed. I wonder if you can get one of those strong directional magnetic pickup tools, down the hole and pull it from the end of the shaft that"s left in. I did this once on a 6100 fwa shaft that broke in a gearbox. it took some fiddling, but was cheaper than pulling the gearbox.
A guy can poke them through from the left side but the diff lock pack is a pain if the wheels are in close, this pack and shaft has to come out , same kinda lenght as park brake shaft. to get it back you have to disassemble it. or poke the 2 disks with your fingers to get them back on the splines. sometimes 2 mins and they go back or you can"t do it and the unit has to come apart. been there more than once.
Regards Robert
