Changeover to the new glow plugs

Well finally got er done. the change to the new Bosch pencil type glow plugs on my B414.Now was not so hard after all actually quite easy..After getting it all wired up and ready to try it i was almost afraid to try it in case it burned a plug.Anyway tripped the switch counted to 5 yes only 5 and lo and behold an immediate start up almost scared me..So a very good system to make these ol girls start and hopefully no more burning out G plugs..Thanks for all the info and help guys Harry

I put the the new 12 volt plugs in parallel in two of my British IHs two years ago (in place of the OEM 1 volt in-series plugs). No problems at all. No failures.

The Bosch DuraTerm GP's are self-regulating. They ain't gonna burn out despite your best attempts. NO worries!

I burnt one out on my Chevy 6.2. Not tragic tip explosion though or swelling. Just stopped working. I've heard a few crapping out but it's rare. That goes for both the Bosch and the Beru self-regulating plugs. Wellman WAP also makes them but failures with them are more common.

Yep, everything breaks/quits/dies, sooner or later. But the point is you can keep a Duraterm powered up for 10 minutes and it will be OK. NOT with the old-style GP"s.
