Anybody still run or ran farmall 806s what all did you do with them! I have a 806 gas and a diesel! Working on bringing another 806 diesel back from the dead! I just like them dont know why just do!

Yep. I farm about 20 acres with an 806 Diesel. I know, it's overkill, but hey, I can always hope to add more ground, right? (I'm only 26) It's my "Big" tractor, it does all of my work, chisel plowing, fitting, and planting. (only because my planter needs a 1000 rpm pto, though.) I really like it. They are an awesome tractor. Mine has never let me down, I've had it for almost 8 years, been a great tractor. -Andy

I have a "63 International 806- mine is a lot like a wheatland, but not exactly. Good strong tractor. I"m looking to sell it though- more than I need. I need a new (or used) rear tire- 18.4x34. Yes, mine has 34 rather than 38 inch tires, like on the farmall 806.

Join the club im 26 to! My gas has 34s so does my diesel! The one im trying to get to run again was a wheatland but its getting farmall fenders thier cheaper to buy! It didnt have its big fenders and platform when i got it so im changing it to look like a farmall!

Not an 806.But a 706turbo(d310) with 11,000+ hrs.And a 1256,20,000hrs.I farm couple hundred acres or so...

I got one so's nobody kin accuse me of being prejudiced. Ol' 806D with FH, and still mean enough to be used on a blower during silo filling.

I see a couple of chronic problems/design flaws with my 806.
1. The torque amplifier. Mine is non functional, as are many. Apparently these are really easy to destroy- like by towing the tractor. I've never used a TA, I just know I havce a useless lever on mine and it would cost a couple grand to fix.
2. Parking brake- mine is non functional. I think the little dog is broken off that engages some gear. Anyway, I have no parking brake and I need to open up the gearbox to fix it.

Yep i have one and had it now going on 14 years . Let see here what all i have had to do to it ?? One clutch ( pulled the center out of it pulling silage wagons ) and while the doing the clutch i put in a new PTO shaft and made up a new wireing harness from the voltage reg. on out to the alt. A set of brakes and a water pump. What does it need now a new rock shaft housing gskt. and set of tires and a paint job . Tires yes paint NO , i ain't painting it Everytime i get one all fixed up and painted someone just can't live with out it and nomatter what price i put on it they pay it . Keep it ugly and nobody wants it .

I run a 806 diesel for my big tractor. 18.4-38" rubber and 3 point. My brother runs an 806 diesel as his big tractor to. Dad has 3-806 diesels and my brother in law has an 806 diesel to. If you can't tell we kinda like our 806's. Lol

It sounds like a lot of people think an 806 is an antique. In my area an 806 is still considered a fairly modern tractor. You don't see many tractors under 10 years old. Economics!

We use an 806 for grinding calf feed. 4 grinder loads a week. And when we get some snow, the dozer goes on it and we move snow with it. Not real comfortable, but it gets the job done and we can work on it ourself. Also have a 1206 with a loader that gets used at times. We should restore it and get rid of it and buy something more useful.

A farmer down the road from me still uses some of those series everyday. Not sure which exact models ,but they are always running up and down the road pulling something.

A friend has a 806 diesel that he bought brand new in 1964...He was just 22 years old at the time of purchase....He still uses it every year on his mower and it still has the original RD injection pump..

Use an 806 in the summers for pulling a swather and baler on about 120 acres of hay. Does the field work for about 20 acres of grain. Can't remember exactly, but around 13000 hours on it.
A wheatland, wish it had a three point sometimes.

Just before i bought this 806 i bought one off a guy in Kouts In. it was a one owner tractor , i bought this as a keeper not a resale piece just like the 706 before it . Got it home and went to work on it fixing every little thing i could find wrong . Had my buddy put a show paint job on it put new 806 decals on it found a new steering wheel for it rebuilt the seat had the head all redone and while the head was off put new bearings in the bottom the pistons and sleeves looked like new with only 34and some hours on her . Had the injection pump and injectors gone thru as she was a little lazy about starting . at the time you could find descent running 806's at the sales from 3500 to 4500 . I gave 4250 for this one . I had it setting outside the shop one day while wroking on a couple tractors when some guy i did not know came in and asked who's 806 that was setting outside . i told him it was mine and he asked how much i wanted for it , told him that it was NOT FOR SALE . His next words were well how much do you want for it , told him again it is not for sale . I was trying to get some work done with out anybody bothering me that day and this guy whom i did not know or had ever seen before would not stop with the how much do you want thing. Finally i just popped out 8750 and all i got from him was OH and he turned and went out the door and was gone . Now at just about any dealers lot you could buy a nice 806 for 5-6000 . I went back to work thinking well ya shut him up . About 20 min. latter i hear a car pull in and i am thinking to myself now who is this , in comes the same guy with wife in tow and say how do you want the check made out , Well i don't know you and there fore i want CASH ONLY Out the door they go and come back in less then and hour with CIF (cash in fist) . (1) i did not put a high enough price on it (2) never leave something you want to keep setting out where some body can see it . The only tractor that i still have that i wanted to keep is my S/MTA . As that one i did put a price on it a long time ago when someone thought he was going to show me he could buy it to prove a point. I vapor locked him dead in his tracks with about fifteen people standing around one evening . He was buying old tractors at the time and paying way more then anybody else was just to prove he could buy what ever he wanted and out bid the next guy . But he said that he was going to buy my S/MTA when somebody else said that they would like to have it . The one guy said that he would give 3500 for it and this other guy said he would top that and give 5 for it and to prove that he was going drive it home he wrote the check out and handed it to me . The look on his face when i tore his check up and threw it in the trash can was a true Kodak moment . He said what are you doing i gave you five grand for it, i told Jimmy boy that JIM you do not have enough money in your checking account to buy this S/MTA . Then he says OH don't say that everybody has a price and to prove it just what do you want i told him that if he wanted that tractor that bad then i would just take the deed to his farm. for it . NOW PUT UP OR SHUT UP. Guess he did not want it bad enough as he left. Turned down 10 grand for it at the 94 Red power show in Hookstown Pa. This 806 is plum UGLY runs like a scaled dog everything works with the exception of the Amp lite (need to remember to get some new bulbs) and it now needs new back tires . When someones tractor goes down and if i am not using it and working on there's they use it as a back up . BUT NOBODY has ever said that they wanted to buy it it is just to ugly and that is the way it will stay , also when in the field on a bright sunny day ya don't get the glare off the hood ,RUST does not shine.!!!!!

Glad some people like them-we had nothing but BAD luck with one.
In the late 1990's my grandpa traded his JD 3010 D for an used IHC/Farmall 806 D (do like and have used IHC M's off and on before and since, still have one M and one F14 that need some attention, generally biased to any thing with ag tires on em) Boy was I glad to see that pile of JUNK go to the auction in the early 2000's. Hate to say it, but that is the only tractor I've met yet that DESERVED a one way ticket to a Chinese Smelter! Every single time we took that thing to the field it broke down. We spent more time working on it than farming with it.

If it had worked, we would have been using it for wheel discing, and ripping.

I have an 806 I've had it 25 years. My neighbor bought it new as soon as they came out in 1963.It has the RD pumpits still a good tractor 2850 hours actual time.

Neighbors big tractor up until ten years ago was a 706 he farms 300 acres he did all the fall tillage and baling with the 706 drilled and harrowed with the 3010 and that was the same two tractors his dad had to

I just bought one last year, a wheatland model, no 3pt or ta which is fine with me. Used it to swath 80 acres this summer sure can't complain about it so far. still need to do a few things, replace some tie rod ends and fix an oil leak on the cooler, and rebuild the pto. The first 'red' tractor I've owned so its a learning experience for me. so far so good, it has about 55-5600 hours on it so I expect it'll out last me.

Got a friend that had an 806D. He hated it because it was IH and he only likes Case. Funny thing was that 806D started, ran and did what it had to do every time. Can't say that about the wore out 970 Case he bought. I myself have a 1206 as my big tractor. I would take and 806D in a heartbeat.
