I am taking the wife to Rochester, Mn. in the morning but just can't get my mind to shut down so I can sleep. I have laid down twice and just toss and turn. The wife can lay down and be asleep in minutes. You could carry her out in the middle of a 4 lane road and she could still sleep. LOL A mouse farts and I am awake.

I have had a little more time this week. The assisted living center for my Father is working great. Just it is not cheap. My oldest told me to just think of it as paying money to keep ME out of jail for offing the OLD man. LMAO

I know what you mean.Especially during times of stress or 'anticipation'.I just pick up a book and read,or watch Star trek reruns on the computer. In an hour I'm usually ready to sleep...

BTDT, every time I have ever had to travel any distance, or for some important meeting, I never could sleep the night before. I remember laying awake until about three o'clock one night until it was time to leave for Atlanta, GA. which was about a six hour drive from central NC, but before we got to Atlanta, my wife had to take over driving because I couldn't stay awake!

Back 3 years ago when Susan was so sick and almost died,I could NOT sleep.I'd sit down and watch StarTrek 'Enterprise'(did the whole series whils she was in the hospital). At 1 or 2 I'd fall into bed exausted.I was asleep before my head hit the pillow.Back up at 6 or earlier and start the whole cycle all over again....

yep if i get to sleep right now i can get 6 hours sleep ... if i get to sleep right now i can get 2 hours sleep .. if i get to sleep right now i"ll be late

I had a young coworker tell me once that older people don't seem to need as much sleep. Had to correct him on the difference between not needing as much sleep and simply not being able to get as much sleep despite wanting to!

My renter told me this Fall that he had sleep issues......maybe cuz of crop prices, IDK. Would be awake in the middle of the night, go out and sit on the porch. You might have missed my post some weeks ago, where he fell off of a snowy bin, broke his back, smashed his wrist......he still has sleep issues. His wife said he got up about 2 am, went to the shop to sit for awhile. Scary now with our weather, snow, slippery steps and yard. I can imagine his frustration, 50 yo, vibrant, go-getter...confined, wondering about his farming future, knowing full recovery is impossible.

No worries, I'm a "Night Owl". Majority of my working life I worked Graveyard Shift, and was a "Day Sleeper". Now that I'm retired my internal body clock is still wound backwards - so I'm up all night and sleep during the day. Makes it tough when you have so many things that you need to get done that requires daylight for. LOL

This bout sizes it up.
