Engine Block

Would anyone know where I can purchase an engine block for my 1948 Oliver 70 Row Crop? I want to restore my grandfather's tractor and it appears to have cracks between the cylinder sleeves. I live in Canada so I will most likely need to have it shipped

Thank you

Les

I deal with a place in Wakarusa, IN. called Myers Farm Implement where they have a sizable bone yard and may or may not be able to help you out or give you a reference. While trying to locate them on the internet, I found some place called Myers Tractor in South Dakota, which I know nothing about, but they too are a large bone yard as I read their web page, and they are closer to you.

Here is a phone number for Myer Implement in Wakarusa, IN by me. 574/294-1008. They too have a sizable bone yard as well as selection of used tractors and implements. Maybe like used auto parts/junk yards, there is some national or international network? You are going to have to go through a bone yard, or get lucky and find someone that is looking to get rid of...

Good luck in your quest.

Allstates, in Downing Wisconson. They have 7 yards around the mid west, but Downing seems to be where their Oliver stuff is.

Cracks between the sleeves, if they are only at the TOP of the block, are usually not a problem at all. This topic has been covered before. The head gasket seals everything up.

However, if there are cracks at the bottom of the block, where the sealing rings are, that IS a problem for sure.
